The Zine Fest is fast approaching! We, the Hotties247(properly known as the Zine Fest planning committee), are positively and unequivocally bursting with excitement for the Fest this weekend!
If you haven’t heard yet, we have invited folks from near and near to host workshops on print, bicycles, crafts, anarchy! and more. Folks like Sir’Ma’am, B.E.T.C.H and The Challenger Newspaper will be tabling their goods. We are also hosting the likes of Scott Crow and Val Romness who will be speaking about their experience with print and activism.
The Hotties are supplying lunch on both days for all hungry people so come at noon ready to munch and hangout with the raddest of the rad!
Here is a preliminary peek at one of the workshops:
Bicycle Repair
Yellow Bike Project volunteer BW Jung will be hosting this class!
“We will discuss thee basics of bearings, and how they are generally used on bicycles and then specifically how to repack them on hubs. Once you understand the basic concepts here, it is a fairly simple step to move onto repacking other bearings such as headsets and bottom brackets. I will bring tools, supplies, and several front wheels, plus a couple of rear wheels. After you do one of these, you may choose to do one of your own wheels.”
So this means come ready to get greasy pre-rev in preparation for all the post-rev bike repair you’ll be getting yourself into! Bring bikes if you got ‘em!
